Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

We’re very excited here at Bantry Bay to offer our CSA program for its 16th year!  A CSA is an exciting link between farmers and their community, and helps connect a community to it’s food.  If you’re looking for high quality, fresh, organic food, then the CSA might be for you!

How Does the CSA Work?

The Bantry Bay Farm CSA runs for 20 weeks, typically from the early June to middle of October.  Members pay upfront at the beginning of the season or in installments, and in return receive a bag of fresh produce each week either picked up at the farm.  Each bag contains around 6-10 seasonal veggies - more during the
peak times in late July/Aug/Sep, and less during the shoulder seasons of June and October.

  • Pick up Times - Veggie pickup is from 4:30 - 6:00 PM on Monday evening.
  • Newsletter - Each week you will receive a digital newsletter with recipes, photos, and updates from the farm.

Our final four weeks of the season will be combined into 2 'double bags', as the bags are smaller in October and all the crops store rather well.  This means there will be a single gap week in October that members do not need to come out to the farm.

If at anytime during the season you will be away and unable to pick up your share, you can arrange to have a friend pick up your veggies or you can notify us and we will do our best to get you your veggies on a different day.  Typically we can always put your veggies into our cold storage over night, and then out onto the regular pickup table the following morning.  However, getting in touch with us beforehand is a must!

Extra Features

Assisted Share:

We're very excited to once again be partnering with the St. Andrews Open Door Program to offer an assisted share program, giving our members the opportunity to donate extra money towards CSA shares for lower income families.  The program has been very successful, and thanks to our members’ generosity, 3-5 families have been able to take part in the CSA each year who otherwise would not have been able to.

If you’d like to take part, just fill in that section of the form, and add your donation to your share payment.  You can include your amount on the same cheque as your CSA share.

Flower Share:

We're very excited to offer cut flowers to the CSA again this season!  The Flower Share runs for 12 weeks and each week you will choose between different bunches of seasonal cut flowers.  There will be different selections of flowers available depending on the season, including bunches of sunflowers, snapdragons, zinnias, dahlias, bachelor's buttons and much more.  The Flower Share will begin in July and last until the end of September.

Weekly Share:  12 bunches of flowers over 12 weeks - $162

Bi-Weekly Share:  6 bunches of flowers over 12 weeks - $81
